Hunting, a way to save endangered species

Poaching

The world looks towards technology as it heads to the future, but what gets left behind on the way there? Now more than ever there are hundreds of endangered species, each struggling to survive. So in response to the decline of  animals, countries are establishing hunting bans in order to keep the animals alive. It seems logical to increase the endangered species, then you would need to stop the killing.

The problem escalated even worse, especially in Africa, their numbers are dwindling as a result of poachers. Studies were conducted in Kenya and Tanzania. The results showed that the hunting bans actually increased the amount of animals that were killed. So what is the solution?

The solution is hunting quotas. Hunting quotas  are a close monitored amount of animals of a certain species allowed to be killed by licensed hunters. Once a quote or certain amount of the animal species in that area is achieved, no more may be killed. These Quotas generate jobs, money, opportunities, and help educate the community.

Hunting quotas will save the endangered species and help to protect the environment.

Hunting in general should be just for the needs and not like most people do by hunting and killing way more than there needs. All government should put rules for hunting like the rules used in USA, every hunting license issued by the government has max number of animal that can be hunt a day, and there is a season for every specie and no one allowed to hunt off season. The rangers all over the forests to make sure everyone is following the rules. All countries should follow the same rules for all animals and be more strict with endangered species.

I will start by saying that I am not, and never will be, a biologist. That being said, I would have to assume that stating that hunting quotas actually increase poaching would be Type C, as well as a silo view. I don’t believe that it is really possible to quantify “poaching” from one simple statistic, as was provided. I feel as though information is being perceived with an end-goal already in mind, and the data came out convenient to that result. In my opinion, this is showing how a Type C individual can use one piece of data, and set themselves up to make mistakes off of that incomplete information. All of that being said, I do believe that hunting quotas are a good idea. The system that the United States has in place has seemingly been effective.

This article is a great example of how an attempt to control individuals failed. According to IMT and KSM, it is impossible to control people. The idea that one can control another is an illusion. In this case, a law was created to eliminate hunting and protect endangered species. However, rather than help remediate the problem, the bans increased the number of animals killed through hunting. This displays the ineffectiveness of laws because people are going to do what they want, regardless of a written rule.

This is a perfect example of how attempting to control people’s actions though the use of rules or laws does not work. This apparently does not work, as can be seen by the amount of incarcerated individuals. As we learn in IMT, control by rules or laws is an illusion.
Whether managing endangered or non-endangered animals, the right way is by allowing some animals to be hunted. Just telling humans “no” won’t work.
